In my opinion, many people find their purpose and passion as their adult life progresses through gained experiences in both their personal and professional endeavors. For me; however, my passion for fashion was undeniable from a young age. I began to find confidence and more importantly my personal identity through clothing and as the years passed, I realized all the things I loved about my small midwest hometown would also one day be the factors holding me back from achieving my true potential.

Beginning in 2013, my family decided to start fostering children. Looking through my tainted lens of privilege, I realized that fashion not only transcends all barriers but it also taught me many valuable lessons. After welcoming the 43rd child into our home, I was humbled, at the disparity of basic needs that many of these children lacked. As I would focus on listening and learning from the children, I would gift the clothes that I no longer wanted. I realized that these seemingly trivial gifts to most were actually treasures to these kids. This is when I realized fashion is more than a commodity. Fashion is self love, individuality and freedom.
